Born in New Jersey, I studied commercial art and advertising at the prestigious and world famous, School of Visual Arts, in New York City, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. As a successful Metropolitan, freelance illustrator and graphic designer, my use of multiple mediums, particularly watercolor and pen and ink, along with my visual techniques and original styles, awarded me dozens of important freelance national and international projects as well as dozens of top honors and awards in the visual and advertising arts. My work has appeared on the covers of various book jackets - several fiction novels and many business management books for AMA Publishing, as well as appearing in publications like Playboy, Esquire, TV Guide, The Village Voice, and Reader’s Digest. I also created designs and logos for several top corporate real estate projects (including Marriott Hotels, The Meadowlands, and Giant Stadium) throughout the New York-New Jersey area. In addition, I was the resident Art Director for the Alice Theater, a popular Off Off Broadway Theater, designing not only stage sets, but overseeing the art on the program covers and promotional posters. One particular project I am fond of was my logo design and creative work that helped introduce The New Jersey Film Commission to the Hollywood production community. In some resepcts, it was through this project, that my creative life was pointed in the direction of Hollywood and the movies. On relocating to Los Angeles, my freelance work included designing opening graphics for the credits on several feature films for 20th Century Fox Pictures and Filmways Pictures -- “Taps,†“Tess,†“Stir Crazy,†Four Friends," "Dressed To Kill," “Das Boot,†and “Gandhi.â€Â I did the poster art for dozens of indie films too, like "The Horror Star," "Four Day Shoot," "Mount St. Helens: Killer Volcano," "Bachelor Party," and "Mortuary Academy' (which I also produced and performed music on the soundtrack). A few years ago, I was the Creative Art Director for Las Vegas-located PNTV, Player’s Network -- an international television channel about the art and skills of gaming. I oversaw logo designs, corporate campaigns utilizing print, ads, POP displays, multi-media exhibits, video formats, menus, manuals, video displays, etc.). I communicated directly with the company’s main clientele -- The Rio, The Mirage, Caesar’s Palace, Treasure Island, The Four Queens, New York, NY, Paris, The Hard Rock, Stratosphere, and The Riviera. Having worked in the entertainment industry in LA for many years, I had the opportunity to produce a few feature film, television commercials, and video documentaries. I also produced and directed over 60 music videos for MTV, VH-1, and BET, and live concerts for such artists as Brian Wilson, Linkin Park, Jerry Douglas, Faith Evans, Gerald Levert, Charlie Wilson, The Little River Band, The Black Crowes, Danzig, Squeeze, Peter Murphy (Bauhauss), Jeffrey Osborne, Eddie Murphy, and The Commodores. Other art-related freelance and full time positions,I've held include working with: Red Hots Entertainment in Burbank, CA, as a Creative Art Director/Videographer, where I supervised major creative print and ad campaigns for this independent television, music video, and feature film company. Projects under my auspices included: “The Sun Show!†– Live action and animation TV pilot designed to educate & entertain pre-teen kids about the benefits of sun-safety and avoiding early skin cancer. It was produced by Disney Television, the EPA, 3M Pharmaceuticals & Schering-Plough Corp, and was the recipient of the 2006 National Accolade and the National Aegis Awards for Best Educational Video Program. Winmill Entertainment at the legendary Culver Studios (home of "King Kong" and "Gone With The Wind," etc.), in Culver City, CA, as a Creative Art Director and Music Video Director. I oversaw creative print and ad campaigns for this independent film company. Projects Included: "Out of the Dark" – From United Artists & Skouras Entertainment. "California Dreamin’ - The Mamas & The Papas Story†– ABC TV/Spring Creek Television. The Motion Picture Marketing Black Book in West Hollywood, CA, as an Art Director. I created the graphic layout and design of this international annual directory– a prime marketing tool for film distributors and studios. The Film Consortium in West Hollywood, CA, where as a Creative Director and Music Video Producer/Director, handled creative print/ad campaigns for this independent and commercial film company, run by Noel Marshall who produced "The Excorcist." Projects I worked on were: "Square Dance" with Rob Lowe, Jason Robards, Wynnona Ryder, and Jane Alexander.“Flashpoint†with Kris Kristopherson, Treat Williams and Rip Torn. Recenly, I was named to the Board Of Directors for the newly founded Panama Film Commission, which I helped to get off the ground many years ago. Currently, I am completing a screenplay for an upcoming Canadian feature film, "Bamboozled!" I will also be directing upcoming music videos for Jerry Douglas (Alison Krauss & Union Station), MADD KD, Crytsal Howard, The Black Crowes, and my own band, Old Sand Mill, whose CD will be released in the Summer of '08. I split my time between Burbank and La Quinta in the desert near Palm Springs.
