This amazingly gifted musician learned vocal technique from his sister Pam and his prodigious photographic skills from Mr. Muckle...Only days before his death HASIL ADKINS invited THE GREAT POPPLE to accompany him on sand paper..Given the dire circumstances, POPPLE considered it best not to accompany The Haze anywhere.....THE GREAT POPPLE who resides in an undisclosed location, began his musical career in the 1960's trading licks with his eminently multi-talented brother, Bill. He was an invaluable member of several important musical aggregates including PLUM ROAD. His impecable timing and impressive drum chops made him the band's foundation. POPPLE decided to pursue the piano in his early 20's, and although starting at a comparitively late age excelled enormously playing rock 'n' roll, jazz, classical and even ragtime...Occasionally THE GREAT POPPLE will devolve and deign to play blues with The King Bees, simultaneously tarnishing his reputation and elevating theirs...Since childhood TGP has found expression through his camera, documenting with uncanny insight the events of his family and neighborhood. These films exemplify the POPPLE hallmark--beautifully capturing time, place, personality and emotion while often tickling the funny bone and working the tear ducts. THE GREAT POPPLE is the creative cinematic genius behind "The Andy Chronicles", archiving his son's youthful activities --from his behind the wheel careening about the grave yard at age 8, to his over-the-head-backwards-roundball garbage can dunk. Documentaries as varied as "Man Bites Snake" and "The Story of Phineus Wright (Going...Who The F--Knows Where??!)" are part of the ample TGP opus. The GREAT POPPLE filmed one of the last performances of the legendary CAREY BELL, capturing the sound and energy of this world-renowned harmonica master before his last illness....TGP's dogged research of the POPPLE genealogy has resulted in the poignant telling of the illustrious family history and the EXAULTED membership of his kin in the august DAR. Whether brandishing his mashy niblick on the links or squiring his beautiful and equally talented wife, THE GREAT MRS POPPLE, to their favorite bistro, The Chicken Farm, TGP is a renaissance man yet a man of the new millenium!
