Formed in the fall of 2007, Blasphemy blends the sounds of old time soul and jazz with hip-hop of the now. An eclectic group of performers, their sound draws from many different backgrounds. Whiteley has been involved with bands from irish punk to gypsy folk, known for his contribution to The Bandoleers and Shillelagh Law playing the accordion. His part in this project diverges from the accordion to the organ, creating a vintage and authentic sound. Phil has been a drumming mastermind from an early age, previous bands include Dylan and the Squires, a contemporary blues band, and the more recent "Happy Birthday". Fimo and Golden Rhinoceros have been cookin' rhymes together since 2006 as members of Peak Sneak Freaks a Beloit Hip-hop crew featuring the production of DJ Nick Stoynoff (a.k.a. DJ Sparta). Peak Sneak Freaks have opened for Qwel & Qwazaar (of Typical Cats), Souleye, DJ Arkitek, Scud One, Neandathal and D-Nick. Stacey has been singing from the beginning of life. Her experience includes classic choir and chamber performing and training, as well as jazz vocals. Her vocal talent provides an atmosphere and style that is difficult to reproduce, and shapes the band, setting Blasphemy apart from other current hip-hop acts.
