The James Thompson Singers started singing in the early 1980's and four of the original members are still with the group as of today. We sing for the glory of the Lord. God has been so good to us throughout our tenure of serving Him through our singing.The James Thompson Singers was started by none other than James Thompson himself! He has sung with various groups and finally decided that he wanted a group of his own. The current group is made up of James Thompson "POP" as we call him singing bass, his daughter Marie Whiten singing the lead, Floyce McBath singing the alto, Jim McBath singing the tenor and Paul Laird playing bass guitar, Pam Alford playing piano and singing harmony, and Grady Brawner playing rhythm guitar. We have been blessed to sing in areas thoughout Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama. We have also have recorded 4 albums and are making plans for another on this year. He has broken 2 bones in the top of his foot and it has been about 6 weeks and he just isn't getting any better. The doctors could not see any changes in the break at all. He is in a lot of pain,very irritable and has become very weary. He is having to walk with crutches which is makes it very difficult for him to get around. For those of you who know my dad, he is a very out going person and this has really gotten him down. I know that God is able and that he will heal him, but your prayers are much appreciated!
