The President, Tonia Kempler's career in the music industry spans over 15 years. Tonia moved to Manhattan from her native Atlanta in 2001 to expand her music industry managing and consulting business Emerge Entertainment, Inc.
Before moving to New York , Kempler joined Tashia Stafford's team at Enlight Entertainment several years ago, but decided to relocate to New York City to be closer to the record label executives and other industry professionals to further elevate her current standing in the industry. Enlight's Atlanta operation is helmed by Tashia Stafford, a record industry and personal management veteran, whose resume includes Elektra Records.
Kempler & Stafford have become a powerful force in music industry. Enlight's producer and songwriter clients rely on Kempler & Stafford to handle every facet of their professional and personal lives. The personal aspect is the niche that allows Enlight to compete with the larger management companies. As an added bonus to the day-to-day management services, which include project coordination, shopping & placing songs and facilitating and negotiating deals with their clients' advisors, they offer a personal assistant service in addition to management. Clients, therefore, have their own assistant available for everything from answering a phone-line in their company name to handling insurance, travel, etc.
Enlight clients included Grammy-winning producer Kevin “She'kspere†Briggs, who produced chart-topping hits, such as “No Scrubs†for TLC and “Bills, Bills, Bills†& “ Bug-A-Boo †for Destiny's Child. His label Spere Records is a joint-venture with Arista Records, where Tashia Stafford is currently General Manager. Other producer clients include, Anthony “Dent,†whose hits include, “Survivor†for Destiny's Child and the no. 1 hit “Friend of Mine†for Kelly Price and Sean “Sepp†Hall whose singles include both “No More†and “Playas Gon Play†for 3LW.
Kempler exhibits a natural intuition when it comes to developing the careers of her clients. Her biggest strength is her ability to build and maintain relationships regardless of the terms which may have brought about an introduction, as the nature of her business day to day is problem solving and one of putting out multiple fires. More often than not, this means being on the offense rather than the defense when encountering various professionals for the 1st time. Her professionalism and charm have a way of forming many long-term bonds, which over time prove to be extremely rewarding for her clientele. She has an instinct for pairing her clients with the right advisors, such as lawyers and business managers. She finds the gaps in their individual teams and builds a solid foundation from the start.
