About Me

I have been surrounded by music all of my life. My uncles all played bluegrass. They used to sit and jam with Johnny Vincent (father of Grammy nominated, Rhonda Vincent) and his family in northern Missouri.
The above pictures are from my time on the road as a chick singer, keyboardist and not-so-great rhythmn guitarist. The band Concourse originated in Florida and ended up on the Midwest Club Circuit during the 1980s. It was a cross between Bon Jovi, Ratt, and Night Ranger. They had opened for numerous bands, including Night Ranger, before I joined them in the fall of 1985. In the time I was in the band, we opened for The Outfield, Quarterflash, Kick Axe and Sweet Savage. I joined them toward the end of its existence when I was just 20. We split up in Abilene, TX in spring of 1986.
My studio experience included work with Steve Huston of Head East; session work at SR Audio and my own music. I first went into the studio at age 17 when I wrote, produced and performed my own originals with money I earned working all summer at a McDonald's!
I have also worked pretty extensively behind the scenes as a tech, promoter and in artist development and PR. This experience took me to Branson where I worked for Conway Twitty, David Frizzell, Andy Williams, Bobby Vinton, Loretta Lynn and others. I also worked in Nashville, TN for Star Design Agency where we handled NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield when he was just coming in from ARCA.
But now, for me today:
ShaRae.... SheRah.... Aunt Marsha....
Yeah, I'm the COOL Aunt!
I am a writer. I co-wrote and edited the e-book "Even Soldiers Cry" about 9/11 under the name of Marsha Sears. See it here for free: ninja-gram.com/Attachment671.pdf
I was an entertainment reporter for the Des Moines Register for a few years. I am currently finishing up two scripts and shopping around a novel.
Now that I am all growed up...sorta... I am just dealing with the death of my son, trying to be the best Aunt I can be and focusing on my writing.
My son, Jazz Edwin Sears, was born on March 5, 1996. He had an extremely rare illness all of his life. He died on December 19, 2006 after being on life support for ten days. I am moving forward and living my life to honor him.
He was an incredible kid! He always had a smile or a word of encouragement. He loved deeply! He was the ultimage BULLDOG!!
I hope all of you might gain a bit from his short life.
No matter what the odds are against you, just ignore them and keep moving ahead! There is nothing you cannot do if you set your mind to it!

The Stuff I’ve Learned: EGO vs. CONFIDENCE

When I was younger...and I am NOT that old yet!  But when I was a youngun...I placed people way up high on pedestals. The problem with doing that is that they inevitably fall. Take Concourse.&nbs...
