klamauk° was founded in august 2008 in mainz, germany. the label contributes, collects and displays music & art produced by artists throughout europe. klamauk means confusion, rumbling, shouting, noise, riot, spectacle, bustle, turmoil, hullabaloo, unrest and vertebrae. beside of this very abstract interpretation, the labels idea is based on the fact that nothing is more stable than change in sound and design.
the goal is to create a pool of musicians & artists and let them participate (=klamauk) in a way that shapes the labels sound and look. For example will the first five releases be shaped by various artists. always changing the view through new impressions without loosing it's roots: microfunk. klamauk oo1 is printed in black and white and then colored manually by the artists wich will be unique for all upcoming klamauk releases.

Transferring the idea of uniquely colored covers from our limited vinyl edition - klamauk 001digital means not to generalize the coloring of our artwork. With the “digital cover designer†anybody can design, illustrate and colorize their own unique mp3 cover. Of course, with the original artwork, illustrations and painting method used on the vinyl cover. Creative output is shown in an online based gallery, then used projections at the klamauk events. Like in the upcoming first five physical releases, all following digital releases will have the cover designer automatically installed. design your own mp3 cover online!
