Her foundation derives from studies and mentorships among some of the top working artists of show business today and also with pioneers of their respective art form. Her expertise leads her to wear the hats of performer, choreographer, instructor, producer and director. With a work history spanning from Canada to the USA to Europe and Asia, Lisa undoubtedly has plenty to offer her surrounding dance communities.Lisa’s accolades range from performing in CBS’ Secret Talents of the Stars with r&b/pop star Mya and Jason Samuels Smith,to performing in the Beijing International Dance Festival with the Chicago Human Rhythm Project as dancer/choreographer and media spokesperson. She currently works alongside Lane Alexander and CHRP working as a Co-Director for their performing company, BAM!. Prior to this, she worked as assistant director, choreographer and dancer for 4 years alongside Bril Barrett, Tre Dumas and Jumaane Taylor with Chicago’s M.A.D.D. Rhythms and founded their International extension, M.A.D.D. Rhythms Canada in her home town of Calgary, Alberta. With them, she produced the Calgary Tap Summit and assisted in launching their Chicago Tap Summit. She has been featured in tap festivals such as the L.A. Tap Festival, The St. Louis Tap Festival, The Vancouver International Tap Festival, Munich On Tap, and the Eastern Canadian Tap Conference to name a few. She’s also had the honor of performing with other companies such as Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies and Jason Samuels Smith’s A.C.G.I. and works alongside Cecelia Calloway and the Millzone Entertainment network in honor of the Cab Calloway Centennial Celebration.Her talent not only lies in tap dance, but also in the relm of the jazz dance world. She’s worked extensively with Sean Cheesman (choreographer and dancer for Michael and Janet Jackson) and currently is under the wings of Chicago jazz dance legend, Joel Hall. Her additional teaching and directing pursuits have lead her to direct an international tap dance program in Shenzhen, China and also guest teach in Germany. She has appeared on faculty with reputable Canadian dance conventions, competitions and organizations such Triple Threat Dance Convention, Dance Power Dance Competition, The Dance Project Dance Convention, the Sean Cheesman Dance Camp and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. She also works with professional youth companies such as Denver’s “Girls Can Tap†and Detroit’s “Tappin’ Soles of Detroit†outreaching to many of America’s young and upcoming talent.Lisa currently performs and teaches at various Chicago schools and community outreach programs, and performs in various concerts, club/restaurants and festivals around the city. She continuously proves herself to be an instrumental asset to her surrounding audiences, students and dance communities and is consistently reaching new heights within her career as a Versatile Artist wearing many hats in the business of the Performing Arts.
