Purpose and MissionThe goal of Sangodare and the overall mission of the Sangodare Institute for the Study of GAN Philosophy, is to help students unveil the mysteries behind religious allegories, so one is able to better focus on the truths expressed through the myths and therefore can use religion as a tool to reach higher states of awareness. Through the GAN approach to philosophy, the student will come to understand that religion is nothing more than science veiled in allegory. As a Priest of Ifa, Baba Sangodare instructs that Universal Consciousness can be analyzed and interpreted by studying various modalities such as Geometry Astrology and Numerology. These sciences are an essential part of all religions and when one is able to study linguistics, and the etymological roots of words, one is able to see the interconnectedness of all things.
Sangodare teaches that, “The study of universal truth and the wisdom of nature is called Ifa.†It is a beautiful system of morality that teaches good gentle character (Iwa pele & Iwa rere) veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols, articulated by science, expressed through nature and whose language is mathematics. This is the foundation of what he calls GAN Philosophy.Sangodare has been a student of comparative religions for approximately 16 years. Sangodare has come to the realization, after studying various arts, sciences and religions, that science and religion are in fact one and the same. Studying the intricate mechanisms of language allows us to decode the mysteries of the universe. With this key, the veil of ambiguity is removed and one becomes a student who studies the many to understand the One.
