Born Randy Mc Millan on June 26th 1973 to Ms. Joanne Salandy it was destined that this firstborn child would someday fulfill the legacy of a musical family which extends to a time even before his birth.
At age 3 Randy was taken for a two weeks vacation to his grandfathers home which later extended into fourteen years.
One must say that the fourteen years away from his mother's arms was preparation for many of his present day experiences. It was during this period he was surrounded by a family of musicians, his grandfather James played the clarinet, uncle Joel played bass, uncle Andrew played keyboards, lead guitar and vocalist. Uncle Lennox was versatile in dj lyrics which led him to be fondly called "Briggy" after the famous Briggy of Jamaica.
His introduction to Rastafarai came in his childhood days living with his grandfather in scenic Tobago where two of his uncles owned a sound system which only promoted rasta music in a population dominated by roman philosophy.
At age thirteen Randy was "toasting" lyrics with many entertainers over his group and was called by many "Young Briggy". He decided to grow his locks and was met by serious opposition from his grandfather which helped him to follow his dreams and beliefs and move to Beetham Gardens, Trinidad where he would meet many challenges which may have derailed some from their goals.In 1990 then known as "Chicken Chest" he was involved in the sound system business as a mic man for Matsimella,Black Stone Juice Crew, Dr. Hyde and Volcano Sound. In 1995 he was signed to a recording company PM and FIN from England where he recorded three songs until the contract expired. He then shared the stage with Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor,Terry Ganzie, Aaron Silk, Determine, Anthony B, Super Cat and Mega Banton.
Back in those days a Trinidadian singing reggae was not taken seriously which then caused him to come off the scene and be hidden behind an iron curtain. When he came back to society he was now known as "Jah Son" a name which the world shall now hear. Jah Son has worked on several riddims at Tuff Nutt Studio, Jah Jah Muffin Studio,Studio 53 & Jackie's Corosive Studio. Currently he is managed by Bachelor Entertainment.
