I remember being 13 years old hanging out with my tightest homie Deuce Eclipse at his pad. We'd sit there and write rhymes and come up with breaking moves rather than do homework.It was a different time for Hip Hop back then. We listened to Egyptian Lover, Too Short, Rodney O & Joe Cooley, MC Shy D, and mix tapes with that unforgettable Miami bass. Our older homies had rides that thumped that 808 so hard you could hear them coming from blocks away. It was Hip Hops' age of innocence.Within a year of meeting each other, Deuce and I formed a rap group. The name would be changed a few times before we decided upon The Full Deck. Since our message was positive, it opened the doors to venues that hadn't previously allowed hip hop cats to perform on their stage. A news interview opened up even more doors for us and we set out to spread the word the only way we knew how. That message was for the unification of all Latinos by exposing the racist power structure we live on.Calaca (skeleton) is the newest name we have adopted. It represents the truth of who we are stripped down to the bone. It focuses on the inner struggle rather than exterior appearances.Currently I have been working on projects with Ignitti of the Blaxicans as well as on new trax with Deuce Eclipse.
