About Me

I'm single. I'm pretty sure I'm happier that way, at least for the moment. I suppose that's subject to change. I'm open to meeting new people, but I'm still figuring my life out right now. Here's what I've got so far:
I'm an artist. First and foremost, I'm a sculptor. I attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for their Special Effects program. I'm also a musician, and I'll rock out on a drum set better than anyone you know.
I'm a metalhead. Get used to it. But I'm not simply that narrow-minded. I like a bit of everything. Just take a look at the Music section on the left.
I spell words the British way. I drink coffee and tea, but tea is much more intellectual. I ride shopping carts around in the parking lot when I leave stores, and IKEA's are the best. I collect action figures. My favourite season is Autumn, and I hate it when people say "Fall" becase it's so much less beautiful. I play video games often. More often than not, I speak with a poor reproduction of some kind of an accent, and I really don't care how bad it is. Sometimes I'm lazy, but I would rather enjoy life than be caught up in useless and unnecessary stress. I believe more than anything in being real, and that means realizing that none of us are perfect.
Oh yeah, my name is John.

My Interests

Music, music performance, art (in all its many forms), special effects, sculpture, books, computers, web design, interior design, sleep, movies, traveling, foreign cultures, Japan, food, and a million others...

I'd like to meet:

Danny Carey
Mikael Akerfeldt (Again)
Gavin Harrison
Daniel Liljekvist

Of the female type, I'd really love to meet someone intelligent. Someone who can appreciate art, culture, language, food, literature, architecture, music, and a nice cup of tea. I'd like to meet someone of character, someone respectable and kind, because it's your heart that matters most.

Drown Out

Drown out the voice that breaks the silence
And talks the joy out of everything
You were found out and had to walk
In darkness without the only thing you care about

And we drive away and head for south
We found our way and blocked it out

Cry alone, and die alone
Pray alone, and stay alone

You were burned out
And had to stop before all hell broke
And finally took its toll

And save our souls - we're playing dead
And mine for gold in a heart of lead
And turn around and save yourself
We found our way and blocked it out

Cry alone, and die alone
Pray alone, and stay alone

Drown out.. drown out..

My Blog

Falling into place.

I haven’t written in some time, and I daresay that the majority of my latest posts have been rather dismal in their content. Right now I feel I must write while my good mood lasts, because I hav...

I just don’t get it...

And maybe I'm not supposed to. But I like to try, and today I failed more than ever to understand the reasons for things.Today was such an off day, such an odd day, and I'm trying to make sense of it ...

Reflections, Confessions, Resolutions, Revelations.

It's winding down. The year 2007. My 20th year on this oftentimes seemingly God-forsaken planet. And my 20th year is not a year that will be sorely missed. On the contrary, I bid it good riddance, and...

Time to fess up.

This is terrible. It really is. I don't know how to come to terms with everything that's going on right now. Or perhaps, to put it better, the lack of things going on. And for the record, I hate writi...

Introspection and Procrastination

I watch Grey's Anatomy. I won't lie. I actually really enjoy that show. I was watching yesterday's episode which was saved on my DVR tonight, and I started to ponder life a bit. I've been doing that l...

Understanding

I don't know if this is true for everyone, but it seems to be a common thing in my life. It seems as though I always end up in the places that I least expect. Be it for good or bad (as I see it at the...
