I am here for Friends

About Me

hmmmmmm, I work alot and I've been told I'm a hard worker. I can't spell and sucked in English but I love math. That usually works the other way around for an artist but not me! My day job as a graphic designer is rewarding but I would rather be a full time photographer. I freelance as a photographer. I mostly get wedding gigs through friends and family. I love to photograph kids. Family and good friendships are very important to me. I try to always help when I am needed. I was born and raised in Olando, FL. My parents divorced when I was 6 yrs. old. My mother raised me and my two sisters alone until she met my future step father. We were really poor but my mom made sure she made good memories for us. We rode bikes to the park, went swimming all the time, went to the beach every weekend (except when we went to dads), great parties, baseball, soccor, & vollyball with all the neighborhood kids in my back yard, good times! I guess I got the hard working gene from her. Not only did she make sure we had a great time she also worked us really hard. She worked a night shift and kept a tight ship at home. We would "spring clean" many times a year (Funny*she was usully butt naked and jamming to old rock in roll, guess thats why I'm a nudest at heart and love to ROCK!). I've always felt very lucky to have two fathers. My bio dad is a really, really, really nice guy who loves cars! He is a mechanic and a drag racer. My mom loves to read, enjoy art, travel, and get crazy from time to time. Even though it was horrible when they divorced I'm glad she made that choice and could find the happiness she deserved. My stepfather was great and kooler than I thought he was for buying me guess jeans! I respect him for giving up the opportunity to have his own children and take us as his own because he loved my mother. He was the one that influenced my passion for art. He always had paintings and sculptures from different artist. His favorite was PiCaSso. He still has all of my childhood paintings. He always said I shocked him with my abilities to see things in a different perspective. He still brags about some of my paintings but he has also moved on to bragging about some of my current projects. I had to convence him that photography was art too! My sisters are crazzzzzy and I love them! I love hangin with the fam. I coud keep going about my childhood but I think I'm going to skip some years and move to another big influence in my life. Cali. I moved to California after I got married (21 years old). I lived in Venice Beach. What a amazing place. So much history and culture. Beautiful places. Mountains, snow, dessert, beach, huge city, art, amazing food (another love of mine) were all just a short drive away from each other. I loved Venice. It was a dog town. Everyone brought thier dogs everywhere. Did I say anything about the amazing food? You can walk down the beach or main street and see the same people and lots of new faces. Everyone was friendly and very interesting. Local artist and preformers lined the beach with all of the venders. Never a dull day. I could sit on my roof top and watch the sunset over the ocean and mountains and the sky line of L A begin to light up all while enjoying the kool breeze and sounds of the drum circle that formed on the beach in front of my apartment. I miss it sooooo much. I moved back to Orlando (actually Sanford:() to take custody of my now 13 year old nephew and care for my 84 year old mother-in-law. I used the opportunity to continue my college education and graduated with honors and distinction from Seminole Community College. With an AA specializing in Ceramics and Photography. I also got an AS in multimedia graphic design specialization. We'll see whats next.... Check out my portfolio @ photographybykonnie.smugmug.com (It is still a work in progress. I just got it up and need to add a few more catagories).
