Joey’s love for gospel music began at the age of 10 when he became a member of the Second Baptist Church of Atlantic City, under the then-pastor Rev. Isaac S. Cole. It was there that Joey began as a part of the church’s music member joining the Rosebud Choir under the direction of Minister of Music Thomas Jennings. From the “Rosebudsâ€, as they are affectionately called, Joey moved to the Youth/Young Adult, the Men’s Choir, and now the choir that he has dreamed about becoming a member of, Gospel Recording Artists Inspirational Choral Ensemble. In addition to be a member of the church’s music ministry, Joey also is a charter member of Gospel Recording Artists Min. John W. Howard, Jr. & the End-Time Levites where he serves as Treasurer.
This love for gospel music led Joey to become affiliated with the WXXY Radio Network under the management of George Krementz. He started at the radio station as the sound engineer for “The Fellowship Hour†which was a weekly talk show hosted by Min. Al Thomas. From there, Joey joined the Gospel Mega Mix team also under the leadership of Min. Thomas as a co-host and Sound Engineer. In 2006, Joey took over as the host of “The Fellowship Hour†and eventually transferred the show into “The Bishop’s Roundtable. During the Bishop’s Roundtable, Joey has interviewed many regional and national recording artists such as: J. J. Hairston of Youthful Praise, Min. John W. Howard, Jr., Bishop Charles Lyles, Darlene McCoy, Alicia Oatman, Gospel Duo Duncan & Rachelle along with many other authors, community organizations, etc.
For anyone, that knows Joey, they know that he is a person that loves the Lord and loves to serve in any capacity that is pleasing unto God.
