Sophie Sarah Gisele Dupin debuted on the music scene with 'Mary had a Little Lamb'. She was five.Then came life.Life created fear. Fear created tenacity. Tenacity created the sound of Sophie Dupin.A duel French-American citizen, born the child of a French Artist and an American language specialist, Dupin spent most of her childhood on the outskirts of the big city looking in. Tarrytown, New York, held endless days of daydreaming lyrics and nights of practicing piano with her musical influence--her Dad.Reared from influences of Carole King and Martin Sexton, Dupin has immersed into a soul searching sound that is more relative to a soft yet powerful and poetic flavor.Following her formative years at the Concord Academy Performing Arts School, Dupin quietly made her way into the heart and soul of New York City--Brooklyn, where she currently attends Pratt Institute for Photography and Graphic Arts.Dupin fore-fronted the band, EMBLEM, which debuted in New York City in 2005. Within two years, the band played over 20 shows in the five boroughs of New York City, at such venues as The Bitter End, The Delancey, and Crash Mansion.In 2008, Dupin's solo career began.
