Shedding Light on Pancreatic Cancer

About Me

My name is Jennifer, I am a wife and a mother of 2. I started this MySpace page after losing my Grandmother to Pancreatic Cancer over 3 years ago. My Grandmother was a true inspiration to me, she was a very caring individual who always put friends and family before herself. She was a deacon at our church and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She had 6 kids, 14 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren. I can't even explain to anyone how much she really meant to me, she was an angel on Earth and now I am sure she is one of the top angels in heaven. I started this page in her honor, hoping to help raise awareness about Pancreatic Cancer, making something good come out of something so bad... losing my Grandmother. I have my own MySpace page at myspace.com/jennabeanct , feel free to add me if you would like. I am very interested in meeting anyone who has PC, or has lost someone to this horrible disease. If I can help anyone look for info, find trials, etc. pls. don't hesitate asking.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who is dying from pancreatic cancer, gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving talk, "Really achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. For more, visit www.cmu.edu/randyslecture."Journeys" are special University Lectures in which Carnegie Mellon faculty members share their reflections on their journeys -- the everyday actions, decisions, challenges and joys that make a life.On March 13, 2008, Dr. Randy Pausch provided testimony to the Labor, Health & Human Services Subcommittee on behalf of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. This is his personal story about his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and his fight to survive.Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US, but receives extremely little federal funding to support research efforts. In March of 2008, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network went to Congress to urge the federal government to provide critical funding to speed the cure for this horrible disease.
