Empörung

Induced by heavy doses of Filosofem-era Burzum, Empörung was conceived in February 2008. Armed with the the slow, hypnotic tempos and lo-fidelity fuzz of Norway's early 90's Black Metal scene, Empörung got their start recording The Black Tapes. Empörung frequently uses the term 'Galwegian Black Metal' to describe themselves due to their very regionalized themes and overtones, common in bands like of Burzum, Immortal and Emperor. The name itself, a German word meaning 'indignation' foreshadows the contrast of the band to other, more conventional local acts. Either being ahead of or far behind their time, Empörung is out to spread the wealth of Black Metal, a forgotten and misunderstood artform.
