About Me

I play music with the following bands:

The Country Mile
Lion in Rome
The Purt'neers
The Docks

I'm morphing into an older fella. I like being with the little family we've created. I like working in my yard. I like home improvement type things, but I'm not good at them. I'm much better at outside stuff. I like gardening. Simple things such as hand-me-down waffle irons and house plants excite me. I listen to NPR and watch politics on tv. I miss Progressive talk radio.

In some ways, I have held onto the stuff I associate with being young. I have not grown out of my love for thrift shops and ugly paintings/furniture/beer steins/ashtrays/coffee mugs. I spend too much time playing music. If you take the average age of people at my work, I'm about 20 years younger than that. This helps.

Peace Prize

Of course, word broke on Friday that Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize.  I watch my Grandpa on Saturdays and I couldn't think of anything better to do at 7am on a Saturday morning than to see wha...

One Leg Up

If there is one thing about human nature that baffles me, it's our instictive disdain for anyone that receives an advantage.  I think it's got to be more than jealousy.  For instance, people...

I was wrong.

Mark May was right.  I dismissed his prediction as his typical anti-Notre Dame bias.  This team is more inexperienced than I thought.  The offensive line is just awful.  It's diffi...

A Quick Opinion

Sub-Prime Lenders and Adjustable Rate Mortgages are a perfect example of a flaw of Capitalism.  It's also why some Government regulation can make a system run smoothly.  By "run smoothly", I...

Freedom Concert

Well, Sean Hannity's Freedom Concert is officially a flop.  If you're unfamiliar with his Freedom Concert, it is something he does to raise money for college scholarships for the children of 9-11...

Mark May is an Asshat

ESPN has begun their pre-season College Football coverage.  Of course, Mark May had to ensure his popularity with 85% of the country by exhibiting irrational hatred of Notre Dame.  Let me t...

The latest on Fox News

I knew Fox News' coverage of the Scooter Libby situation would be interesting today.  So, here's what they did instead.  They ran an O'Reilly Factor from two weeks ago.  That's understa...
