She has worked with Ananya Dance Theater, Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, Katha Dance Theater, Ballet of the Dolls, Live Action Set, Theater de la Jeune Lune, and Sossy Mechanics. She was awarded Jerome Foundation's Travel and Study Grant for one of her frequent travels to Spain. Her choreography works were commissioned by the Walker Art Center, the Southern Theater, and Hamline University. Her first Flamenco theater "Hiroshima—A Night Dreamt and a Day Flashed to Burn" was co-presented by Intermedia Arts and Zorongo Flamenco in 2007. Her new work "The Apple Tree" will be co-presented by The Walker Art Center and The Southern Theater and premiered as a part of Momentum: New Dance Works series which was featured in New York Times as a must-see show in Summer 2009.
Sachiko would like to make friends with arts, dance, and music lovers. Contact her if you are interested in making flamenco part of your next event.
