About Me

I am a music fan who's lucky enough to be a concert photographer. I've been going to gigs since 1977 - first gig was Horslips at the Rainbow Theatre - a great gig by a great band at their peak. The next gig though was probably one of the best gigs I'll ever see - Elvis Costello and the Attractions at the Nashville Rooms in London in late 1977. I started taking the odd concert photo in 1980 - The Smirks, The Vapors, XTC, Thin Lizzy - but stopped after a few years.
In the 90's I started to sneak my camera into festivals again and took some ok photos from the crowd - but nothing great. But in 1998 while working in Dublin I started taking photos of Jack Lukeman who was a rising star in Ireland at that time. Over the next 18 months I took more photos of Jack and the band as they progressed from clubs like Whelans to the Olympia Theatre. This was a great learning process and my photos really improved over this time.
When I moved back to London I carried on taking photos for fun at small venues in London and eventually upgraded to the first "affordable" digital SLR. Soon afterwards at a Cotton Mather gig at The Underworld I bumped into a guy who ran a photo agency. He liked my photos and I've been shooting for them regularly ever since.
Samples of my work are here .
