On occasion, a Rock and Roll band emerges out of apparently nowhere with the unique ability to transcend listeners to a fresh, albeit familiar plane. Such is the case with Elizabeth Poe.Founding members, David Call and Brent Bokovoy grew up together making music in San Diego County. They shared a similar love for the darker side of classic rock, from the Doors and the Velvet Underground, to later alternative bands such as Joy Division and the Jesus and the Mary Chain. These interests shaped the development of their original songs.Eventually, however, David took several years off from performing in pursuit of education. He holds a PhD in Ancient Near Eastern studies and reads ancient Babylonian, as well as several other archaic languages. Brent continued to make music, but also took up screen writing in the process.
