Saigon Saloon

Evil Wicked Mean and Nasty

About Me

"the best live act since Hanoi Rocks..." RIP Magazine
Literally formed over drinks at Osko’s fabulously seedy White Trash Au Go Go back in 1987,
Saigon Saloon quickly built a following in Hollywood with a raucous reputation and a sound more akin to what they heard across the pond rather than what was happening in ol’ tinseltown.
While most local bands at the time were getting their hair permed and working on their fake tans...Saigon Saloon honed their bluesy sound and decadent lifestyle by playing, rehearsing and spending every minute of their days together.
More of a gang than a band, Saigon Saloon rose to the top of the local cream rather effortlessly.
They became local legends receiving what can only be equaled to as rock star status,
albeit without even as so much a record deal.
Always looking to move forward,
the band went through several line-up changes until they felt they were finally firing equally on all cylinders...but by then Hollywood had lost the plot.
Depending on who you talk to, the band imploded, self-destructed or just got bored.
The Saigon cowboys bid everyone adieu in 1991 and went their merry ways.
Some of them still play music...some disappeared into the sunset never to be heard from again.
One thing is for certain...Saigon Saloon will never be forgotten.
