About Me

"UNKLE OKTO and the SONS of KLAATU"...Over the years, anyone associated with Roger(Unkle Ockto)has become a "Son(or daughter) of Klaatu". Klaatu, of course was the lead character in the 50's film "The Day the Earth Stood Still". Unkle Oktober"s name is derived from Major League Baseball's coin phrase, Mr October. Since that name was taken and Roger was born in October(and, is in the autumn of his life), Unkle Oktober was invented. He'd likes to think he comes through in the clutch. At this stage of his career, and, after a few scares, he is saved from being the cancerous king and embodiment of pain. The Earth no longer stands still... and life is born-again! The Music is driven by the diversity of the players in each project. From the Solo Original Projects and celebration of songs by the Moody Blues(Time Traveller Band) to the unrehearsed "Jam Band" approach of the Overtones, to the newest Tragic-Magic Band and studio sessions, each performance is intense, passionate and entertaining. Klaatu's message is in each of the performers and is portrayed through their music. It's a pleasure to be associated with the fine talent that surrounds Unkle Okto's environment. We'd like to thank Gort for not vaporizing the world and bringing Brother Klaatu and yours truely, Unkle Okto, back to life...Klaatu...Barada...Nikto..."without you bandmates my world stands still"...
