About Me

Tina Bannow is a local singer songwriter whose past performances include Medicine Hat’s 100th birthday celebrations and the Tongue on the Post Folk Music Festival. She has opened for Alberta’s own the High Water Jug Band and performs regularly at various events including the Medicine Hat Folk Club’s monthly Singer Songwriter night. Tina grew up in Ontario but loves living in the prairies and being surrounded by peaceful wide open spaces. It has allowed her to slow down and reflect on some of her experiences which she generously transforms into song. Her music has been described as “undeniably real; from the first pluck of her guitar string to the last word of a song, there is an absolute honesty in her delivery that draws you in. It is obvious from Tina’s insightful lyrics that humanitarianism and sensitivity are at the core of her essence. This soul is translated in her sweeping rhythms and a vocal style that hasn’t been heard since Edie Brickell. Tina is a truth seeker who knows how to write and package a song that is worth its weight in soul. Absolutely unforgettable.”
