OFFICIAL WEBSITE JEROEN PAUL THESSELING
Jeroen Paul Thesseling began studying bass guitar in 1988 at the Conservatory in Enschede, the Netherlands. During the period 1992-1994 he collaborated with the Dutch death metal band PESTILENCE by recording the jazz/fusion-influenced album SPHERES and touring Europe.
In 1995 Jeroen started to study microtonality and developed a 72-tone equal temperament bass. A few years later he decided to concentrate primarily on playing fretless bass guitar. During the period 2003-2005 he has been touring with the flamenco ensemble of guitarist EL PERIQUIN. Since 2005 he participates in the recordings of ENSEMBLE SALAZHAR, a contemporary fusion/ world music project.
Jeroen joined the German progressive death metal band OBSCURA in late 2007, with which he recorded their second full-length album 'COSMOGENESIS', recently released via Relapse Records. OBSCURA will embark on their first-ever North American tour this April alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE. Jeroen Paul Thesseling is endorsed by Warwick and plays six-string Thumb Neck-Through basses exclusively since 1993.
