DIRTY SURGEONS, what else can be said... Newark NJ natives, OverLord and Casper the Apparition are the group's founding members, both having strong musical backrounds in totally different worlds. OverLord, composer/producer, grew up playing guitar for a number of local acts before becoming part of PROJEKT DNA. ( a Jersey based rap/metal group) After the break up of PROJEKT DNA he and fellow DNA member Leedjin joined with Casper to form NOISE OF PASSAGE where he evolved to the role of producer. With a large body of work being original compositions, OverLord still will come with a creative symphony of samples.
Casper the Apparition aka James Christ (or Jimmy Xmas as certain college radio stations like to call him), grew up in a rock and roll household within a hiphop city. Influenced by RUN DMC and whatever other little hip hop tv would show then, he began writing battle raps at an early age. After earning local respect in the undrground battle scene, he went on to start MACHETE MEN which then expanded to THE SENTINELS. Eventually both groups would break up to leave scattered members to start their own projects. NOISE OF PASSAGE was the next group he would be involved in for a short while.
Now, Casper and OverLord form DIRTY SURGEONS along with production contributions by Alibi of THE SENTINELS, they describe the Jersey mindstate as seen through the eyes of the starving. Their sound could be described as your uncle on acid in the rain looking for his Bob Saget jacket. DIRTY SURGEONS...... THE MOST IMPORTANT GROUP EVER IN MUSIC!!!!!!!!!
