From that point, Sammy was destined for success. He sang with the Operation Plus Band, where he had gigs in local night clubs, and various hot spots in New Orleans and other areas of south Louisiana. Sammy Ridgley comes from a long line of talent and genius, such as his parents who were Gospel singers. His uncle, "Bebe" Ridgley was a jazz trombone player who played with such greats as Papa Celestine and Louis Armstrong and his brother, Tommy Ridgley. Sammy is a respectable man who eagerly gives time to help with benefits and organizations. For many years, Sammy Ridgley’s smooth, dynamic vocals packed crowds of people from every walk of life into the Young Men’s Club on Causeway Boulevard in Metairie and the Club 38 on Orleans Avenue in New Orleans.
