The Jimmy Zone

About Me

I started playing guitar at 15, playing AC/DC and Sabbath tunes. Started a speed metal band (Sacred Death) that played many local shows and warmed up for such acts as Megadeth, Manowar, Vinnie Moore, Armored Saint, Flotsam & Jetsam, Overkill and many others. I then joined a pop band where Dan Shaw and I met. We then started our 9 year run as TSR & 12AM. We played hundreds of shows and recorded 3 CD's. Update to now, I am writing and playing the music that has always inspired me. (Instrumental guitar) I have many ideas that I want to express with the emotion a guitar can bring. Thank you for visiting and enjoy!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Band Members are myself (Jim Pfeiffer) and various drum loops. I write and play guitar and bass tracks. The recordings I have posted are with drum loops using ACID 6.0 for the recording project. Most of the the guitar sounds were done using the Line 6 POD and my beautiful Fender Stratocaster. When I go in the studio and for liveshow, Mike Pecora will join me on the Drums. Mike is a great player with spot on timing.
Influences: The influences for The Jimmy Zone come from all angles of my life. My playing style comes from my "heavier" musical background. I grew up with Led Zeppelin being my favorite band. See my top friends for my musical influences. While I was in the band 12AM, I learned to appreciate the skills that go into writing a good song and that playing 100mph with full distortion may not be the right prescription for every song.
Sounds Like: Sounds like, ah yes, to put a label on what I'm doing......My favorite guitar player is Joe Satriani, Joe has inspired me to attempt this project.
