Rapper, actress. Born Julia Ann Johnson, on July 14, 1986, in New Iberia, Louisiana. Best known as the "Best of the Best," Johnson got her start in 1991 while reciting poetry and singing to pass the time. One day, a teacher overheard her and told Johnson that she had enough talent to enter the schools elocution contest. The meddling instructor turned out to be a contest sponsor, and Johnson soon entered and won the competition as a kindergartner.
Johnson was a popular public figure in the early 1990s and performed regularly at public schools, churches and various local venues. In 1993, her family moved her to Lafayette, La to break into the talent agency business. Later that year, Johnson was offered an indie film debut with a creditable firm. Johnson, who also starred in Blowing Sands (1994), the first local picture plotted around the main character's ability to write poetry, is credited with adding zest to the low budget production.
When Julia adopted the alias Tblaze, in 2003, the actress/emcee became the state's premiere hip-hop talent. Tblaze's other projects included T.B.L.A.Z.E. (2004), Married 2 The Game (2005), Driving Blind (2006), and Presenting Madame Presidential (2007-2008). In 1998, Johnson produced her own television series, Down Home With Julia Johnson, which enjoyed a successful season on the air. By 2000, Julia retired from acting and devoted her time to music and media ventures.***************************
