Rennie Mckie A.K.A Siah Malachi
was born to Cyril & Allison Mckie on July 22nd 1981.
The third (3rd) of five siblings, but the first boy child. he spent the first five years of his life growing up in Carenage, which is in the western part of Trinidad and Tobago. Then moved to Bon- Air Gardens, Arouca, which is where he grew in stength with the knowledge of life, love & music.
Siah's love for music was originated by his father who at the time had the biggest and loudest sound system in the area. From a variety of artists that could be heard on a daily basis would range from Bob Marley- Swamp Dogg- Micheal Bolton- Sparrow - Shadow- Micheal Jackson - Marvin Gaye - The Commodores. So the music just came to naturally be a part of his life from an early age.
He attended Arouca Anglican Primary School and later on attended Arima Government Secondary. At the age of 15, Siah found his time callin to music which was inspired by his uncle named Culture B and also and aunt and uncle who were in a band called... "dayz B4". Through Culture B's music influenced him to write his first song titled...... "I ah man ah RASTAMAN" and found his true voice to write and sing positive songs.
In the year of 2000 Siah Joined the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and was given the military number 5958. This new way of life opened up his eyes even more and his music became more indepth.
When asked why? he responded......... " well how better to know bout the system than to spend time in it and educate, infiltrate and elevate myself outta them so i surely know what I singing bout"
His stay in the Coast Guard was short lived as this was never his hearts desire.Siah Malachi states that his intention is to reach as far as the music would take him and to date, he continues to write positive, inspiring and heart warming music to share wit all that is willing to listen.
