Air Castles

About Me

Air Castles is the solo project of 20-year-old Max Mansson.
Air Castles' debut EP 'Night and Day' was recorded in September 2008 at Tonteknik Recording in Umeå, Sweden, by Magnus Lindberg of Cult of Luna.
"Featuring four tracks of sublime crystalline indie, Mansson's ear for pretty melodies is evident in cuts like 'Quietly' and 'Broken Watches' but it's in the widescreen drama of the Mogwai-inspired 'Winter' that he makes his ambition and talent clearest." - Rock Sound
"Lush, dreamy, unconventional pop" - Metro
"Mansson’s twenty minute set is a tight one, and as he moves from the young Bloc Party chronicles of “Maps of Someday” to his “Broken Watches” finale, you’re pretty sure he’s got you. The latter in particular is worth the ticket alone: its folky plod belies its wide heart and the structure provides the necessary take-off moment to crave with any kind of post-rock." - CokeMachineGlow.com
"Air Castles, Max Mansson's alter-ego, will appeal to fans of Jeniferever, Sigur Rós, Death Cab For Cutie and Band of Horses alike. With his fantastic 'Night and Day' EP we suggest you take a listen and discover some truly sublime sounds." - Rock Sound
