Carpe Noctem (New EP Tracks Are Up!)

About Me

Beginning in a small basement with AC/DC inspired guitarists Aaron Stone and metal-head Austin Klinger, plus a percussionist-turned-drummer, Carpe Noctem had no roots to grow from nor name to make famous. Short practices concentrating more on chugging bottle after bottle of Mt. Dew and playing the original Halo kept them occupied for awhile, but it just wasn't enough...
...enter Brett Laidacker, Lars Ulrich wanna-be...
Why go through the trouble of rounding up a dedicated drummer when you could make one? The solution was here in front of them, and so Thieves Among Rouges was born, which would soon be changed to "Carpe Noctem" (Latin for Seize the Night) once the band realized that their initials spelled out the word "Tar." Using borrowed drum sets until Brett finally got his own, the band began playing and recording covers on an Mp3 player in what later became known as "The Loft" and eventually moved on to better places once "The Studio" had been created. After purchasing a professional recording system with no directions, they spent 3 months attempting to figure out how to work the damn thing, and finally (attempted) to record their first single, "Hero's Day."
...it failed...
But they would not be denied! After learning how to further integrate the mysterious workings of the recording system into their works, they began recording their orginal work and have since been doing so, displaying it on their website www.purevolume.com/carpenoctempa.
Yet still, something was missing... long had the band made jokes during shows about how they had no bassist, followed by 10 minutes of begging the crowd to audition (it didn't go over well.) And then, as if from the darkness, there arose the chance to seize one of their own! And so, Justin Eves, the ever joyful bass player, joined the ranks to spread the power of rock across Pennsylvania.
Today, the band continues to play where they are asked, judging a succesful night by "showing up, having fun, and getting paid." Carpe Noctem plans to release a Demo CD in the near future, so stay tuned, keeping rocking, and SEIZE THE NIGHT!

Sounds Like: Anything from Classic Rock to Heavy Metal to Epic Instrumentals. Carpe Noctem combines a mix of crushing energy and power with meaningful lyrics and melodies that leads to a diverse genre all it's own. Influences of Heavy Metal, Post-Grunge, and Hard Rock and be heard clearly in every song, leading to the get-on-your-feet-and-dance rythms of "Ain't Got Nothin'" to the awe-inspiring harmonies and thunderous double-bass work of "Winter."

Songs are primarily written by Vocalist & Guitarist Austin Klinger.
