Also, if you would like to do an album review we'd love to hear from you. We're looking at trying to start some street teams to get the word out. If you're interested contact us here! Change is coming. The world is turning. Thanks for listening! ******************************************************** Lucas Clonts is a thinking man. Through the sparse arrangements of his first full length album titled Desolation, he speaks about the isolated nature of the modern world. “There are certain patterns and limitations in my life that I'm pretty sure everyone feels, but I rarely hear anyone else put them into words,” he says. Lucas’s words do serve to identify societal misgivings, but songs like Don’t Look Back and Conscience also confess more personal reflections, often atop eerie, reverb-laden guitar lines and rich vocal harmonies. It is this balance of intimacy and the universal that makes the album accessible, even insightful, but the music through which these ideas are communicated is of a surprising quality for an artist who has been utterly unknown until recently. This twenty-two year old college student from northern Arkansas has traveled across the state to record his first album in the living room studio of some friends. Together they build this album working from models of the songs Lucas has written over the past four years, but they’re mostly making it up as they go. “I purposely came to the studio without having a full-band arrangement for these songs. Once I showed them to these guys,” he says pointing to the two young men crowded in front of a laptop across the room, “I knew they would really be able to enhance the meaning of the songs… what I mean is they’re excellent musicians.” And indeed they are. The studio's owner and producer, Skyler Greene, makes his living as a guitar instructor and carpet installer (which is why the walls are covered in a patchwork of carpet samples), but he is foremost a skilled, motivated musician. Paired with Lucas's long time friend Clark Grant, the two of them can play just about every instrument that requires use of the hands. With constant laughing and joking, the three young men discuss details of the album over a spectacular home-cooked dinner every evening . After a long night of recording, they'll stay up a few hours more chanting Neil Young songs and laughing about Skyler's carpeted walls or the grouchy neighbor. The unrelenting humor and intuitive intelligence of these three has soaked into every part of the album, which really does communicate how smart and fun they are. Lucas said it best as he was listening to the final mix of Everyone, one of the most powerful tracks on the album. "These songs have become equally meaningful to us, which sort of goes against the underlying concept of isolation through the whole album, but I'm also saying I don't want to be isolated." He smiles and laughs out loud as he listens to the six part harmony. "We've all come together so perfectly....It's really beautiful to all be working towards a precise common goal. I'm just happy because this album is true. I'm happy if people know me as this music." ********************************************************

Sounds Like: *ALBUM REVIEW BY LYNDSI WHITE* "Desolation successfully illustrates an advanced amount of talent in vocals, writing, and producing. The album delivers a strong moral message to its listeners. Words I would use to describe this album would be refreshing, powerful, light, and inspirational. The music alone is incentive to engage into the world of Desolation; complemented by the sagacious lyrics, this album is plenary. I encourage anyone who enjoys having their spirit, ambition, and purpose in the world evoked to spend time with Desolation. This album will not fail to fulfill one's expectations."
