About Me

The Basics:
* I have been married for 7 years. That's a long time to put up with my punk ass. Should you meet Chris you should congratulate/ console him. He's probably the only man in the world that could have made it this far.

* I have 2 dogs. I will not think about kids until I can successfully feed them everyday for at least 2 months straight.

* When I DO have children, they will lead the resistance against the robots. That is, if I decide to breed.

* I have a VERY weird sense of humor. I blame watching Monty Python and reading Dave Barry in my formative years.

* I collect spaghetti sauces.

* It is not unusual for me to start giggling uncontrollably for no apparent reason. The most common cause of this is something happens and my brain takes about 12 instant tangents and arrives at something completely unrelated but that I find hysterical.

* I like to climb on stuff.

* I am an optimistic cynic and an extroverted introvert.

* I do not like talking on the phone. Especially when the conversation starts out with a sing-songy "Whatcha doin'?" My answer will inevitably be "hanging up until there there is a purpose for talking to you."

* I dislike sitting in chairs correctly. I find it disrupts my essence. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds enlightened or something.

* The following cause me to involuntarily react in a violent manner, fueled by a seething, almost inhuman hatred: Nickleback, Creed, The Dave Matthews Band

* I like watching MMA fights. I currently have no favorite fighters. They have all let me down as of late. Seriously, Chuck...Keith Jardine!? You lost to KEITH JARDINE!!!?? You make me cry. Let's hope Brock Lesnar can change this.

* I love my job, which is weird because it is in computers and I majored in Journalism fully intending to be a writer for the Rolling Stone. 18-year-old Ruby is having a fit, and 27-year-old Allison is at her wit's end trying to explain that troubleshooting all day is actually FUN and learning programming is EXCITING. *sigh* teenagers...

* Athletics are permanent part of my life. I played soccer for 14 years, swam for 5, started weight lifting at 18 and now I do Mixed Martial Arts.

* I have a B.A. in Journalism and have 2 classes left to get an equally useless degree in Psychology.

* If GSU was a person, I would punch it in the face.

* May God have mercy on everyone's soul if I do not have coffee in the morning.

* I blog alot. Read them. You will be vastly amused.

My Interests

* Vocabulary words

* Inventing new forms of grammar - it's ok. I am allowed. I took both AP Englishes in HS.

* Finding something amusing in every situation.

* Union Jacks, fire, skulls, plaid. Oh, and anarchy - but within reason :).

* Pandas, bunnies and monkeys.

* Conspiracy theories.

* Standing-room only concerts with a good pit.

* Capitalism

* History

* Bulletpoints, apparently...

* Heated discussions about inconsequential topics like "If zombies really existed, would they move slow like in the original 'Dawn of the Dead' or fast like in '28 Days Later?'"

* Randomness

* Wait. Can I like both randomness AND bulletpoints simultaneously? Bulletpoints indicate preciseness. Can randomness be precise? Is that an oxymoron? Maybe that makes some kind of very obtuse sense. Maybe I am precisely random. Egad, that sounds like a disorder! Quick! To the DSM - IV!!!

I'd like to meet:

Someone whose life has turned out exactly the way they had planned since they were little. I wanna ask them how they did it and if it really made them happy or if they are just kidding themselves.

Music:

Mostly Punk and Ska, but I like at least one song from just about every genre. I like to work out to industrial/electonica, chill out with reggae-style music, brood to emo, goth, and 90's rock, and go on short walk-abouts with punk (skater punk, gutter punk, Brit punk...doesn't matter), ska, and classic rock. I have also been known to dig big band, jazz, rockabilly, psychobilly, and swing. I like mainstream stuff, cult stuff, and some stuff most people have never heard of.

Movies:

I like everything but chick flicks. If you are a girl and want to know if I would be your friend, ask yourself this question: "Is 'Legends of the Fall' my favorite movie?" If the answer is yes, it is 91% certain I will not get along with you.

I like horror, thrillers, Oscar winners, artsy-fartsy flicks, any comedy, cult favorites, silly kid's movies, etc...

Some specifics: Anything Monty Python, Dodgeball, Terminator 2 (one of the few movies that made me cry), Finding Nemo, A Christmas Story, Beerfest, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, American Psycho, Donnie Darko, Million Dollar Baby

Television:

A VERY guilty pleasure - American Idol. Shut up. We will not discuss this. 24, House, Lost, the History Channel, Fox Sunday Lineup, the Learning Channel (especially mummies and aliens and the Knights Templar stuff)

Books:

The Virtue of Selfishness, Catcher in the Rye, 1984, A Clockwork Orange, Paradise Lost, The Canterbury Tales, Battle Royale the manga, Siddhartha, Good Omens, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Agatha Christie novels, anything by Dave Barry, Neil Gaiman stuff (Sandman, etc.). I can't wait to put 'Atlas Shrugged' on here.

Heroes:

Jack Bauer and Sarah Connor.

Correction, I Need No Direction - So Let Me Go Just One Last Time

I am in the process of planning RancidStalk 2008. Rancid is so awesome.  They still only charge $20.00 for a ticket to their shows. So it won't even put a dent in my wallet to see them 6 times.&n...

Eric the Relationship Ninja, the Clermont, the Fur Bus, and the Super Bowl

99 Red Balloons

It is a very sad thing when greatness is lost, icons crumble and apathy replaces adoration for the once-exalted. Even when the end has been written on the wall for years, it is still tragic. Why didn'...

Some updates from my very long weekend:* Denver is, like, way cold and altitudinous. That word is vastly underused. I am gonna make it popular. You just watch; in 2 years a rapper will rhyme it with "...
