The story so far…I have always been involved in music, first getting involved in DJing around the age of 13-14 playing JUNGLE and mixing on a pair of decks I bought off my mate’s brother. I paid 80 quid for them and sold them a year later for 90, touch! Besides that I had been having guitar lessons and always messed about with keyboards making up little tunes.
In terms of production I started out at school working on an ATARI running cubase and soon bought my own computer which I hooked up to a keyboard I had, which just happen to have a MIDI port. I have been through every computer setup you can imagine, (If you’re a child of the 80’s) but once I started working I spent every penny upgrading and building up my studio. At one point I used to make tunes using the basic sound editor in windows, you only had 1 undo so if you stuffed up, you started again!
My first release came about after I went for an interview as a studio engineer and left a tape containing my debut release ‘Destiny’.– RNK Recordings. Destiny was reviewed in ATM Magazine and received 5/5. Not bad for my first tune.
Soon after this I decided I would be better off in control and setup my own label, Juvenilia Records, nearly all future releases were put out under this label. For a few years I was running under the AKA DJ Fresh (soon realised there is about a billion DJ Fresh’s) so now I keep it simple….Peter James Kahn….that is me if you see that name on a tune it means I made it, no questions!
Now there are a lot of events in between the beginning of ME and where we stand today…but, it ain’t no thing! The plain truth is I lost my way I stopped making beats and I stopped being me (DEEP), but now I HAVE AWOKEN and I’m back to prove to myself that music is my ART….Listen up world, BRING THE NOISE!
