First there was the Scooby Doo, then Spongebob, Boasty Walk and the newest one, "GLOBAL SWAGG". "I built the dance while freestyling and vybing with friends, I am responsible for that dance".Well the man behind all these creations. Chad Torrington, also called GLOBAL BOB, BOGLE IS THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS FIRST DANCING NAME...(DANCER SPONGEBOB)HOWEVER, HE NOW CHANGED THAT NAME BECAUSE GLOBALBOB HAS A MORE INTERNATIONAL APPEAL TO IT RATHER THAN MY FORMER NAME. CHAD has been dancing for as long as he can remember and he sees the ability to dance as something which just comes naturally. Dancer GLOBAL BOB demonstrates his trade mark dance "My dances are not something I sit and plan out, it just happens," GLOBALBOB stated in an interview. The 22 year-old past student of Wolmer's Boys' High School is known at Wolmer's as the Best Dancer from 2002 - 2006. "I don't just dance, I entertain." HE IS NOW ATTENDING the University of Technology studying Business Administration. One might wonder why not a Performing Arts school, but the obviously level-headed Chad has learnt from his former Wolmer's Principal, Dave Myrie, that education is important, and he is not planning to be just a dancer but a businessman. With his degree he hopes to open a dancing school for kids to just come and have fun. However, he did get a scholarship from a performing arts school in New York, but decided to stay with his mom as he is an only child and wasn't ready to leave home. With exams now over, Globalbob is ready to take over the World now although he is still in University. The younger performer has shared the stage with artistes such as Bogle, Flabba Dabba, Sample Six, he also completed a video with Lady Saw, Carlene Davis,KK Alese, Brick & Lace, Cecile, Voicemail,Konshens, Shaggy,M.I.A, Serani to name a few.One of GLOBAL BOB's Biggest accomplishment is preparing to go on HIS WORLD TOUR.. HE ALSO choreographed for M.I.A HOW MANY BOYZpremiered on MTV, also assisted Tanisha Scott with the choreography for Brick n Lace's "Bad To Di BONE" and is getting a positive reception from the Public...He will be going to Canada, Sri Lanka and The United States of America. But he admits he likes working alone..His videos can be viewed on Youtube and many other Dancehall entertainment sites..simply type Global bob or google Global bob in the search section.. "I am a leader, not a follower, if I am in a group, people have the chance to over shadow me, even though in a group there is always that one person that stands out." He emphasises his point by alluding to Michael Jackson's days as a member of the Jackson 5. He has performed all over. He encourages young dancers therefore to be serious if they are going to pursue dancing as a career. "Most dancers dont educate themselves on how to make the maximum amounts of money. For instance, it is important for a dancer to get registered in order to be classified as a professional," he says, adding that, "it is also important for immigration, if you have a piece of certified paper to say this is what you do for a living." He also says that dancers should copyright the moves they create. Not copyrighting Scooby Doo and Spongebob was a mistake, he admitted, but he made sure to copyright his newest dance the GLOBAL SWAGG. GLOBALBOB now has a DVD out which shows him in action at various shows, but it has not been completed for the public. Along with that, he has a video for the GLOBAL SWAGG and he will be doing promotional shows for it. When he is not touring or doing shows, GLOBAL BOB spends his time chilling with his friends and his four dogs. Chad, Mr Orientation 2003, has not let any of his successes go to his head as he thinks there is more to attain. He however sites his mother and girlfriend, Joy Swaby(Mother)..Vivene Powell (Aunty V) and kareen Chung(Reeny Bear) as one of the reasons he is so goal-oriented. "She reminds me to always be grateful to God, to never forget my church life and also remember family and friends..dats ma mother's role but ma woman is ma best fren, ma lova, ma everyting...she supports n motivates me to da fullest in such a genuine manner i just have to love her continuously...i give God thanks everyday for a blessed life."
