The mission of Studio Art Centers International is to provide excellent studio and academic classes at undergraduate and graduate university level in overseas study. SACI also aims, by focusing on integrating students into Italian society and opening up Italian skills and resources to them, to help creative persons maximize their foreign study experience. In order to fulfill this goal, SACI provides the best possible faculty, administration staff, facilities, and curriculum, to enable students to realize their full potential during study abroad, which can be a catalyst and inspiration of key importance for an artist or a scholar. Many of our SACI alumni have developed to be very successful individuals and artists with the Florence experience very much a catalyst for their growth.
SACI has the good fortune to own the historic Palazzo dei Cartelloni, situated in the center of Florence. Fully equipped with studios and classrooms, and a beautiful garden, it provides an ideal center for students to integrate into the city and learn about the resources of Florence. .

STUDYING IN FLORENCE
Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance, is a fascinating city. Surrounded by Tuscan hills and bridging the Arno River, it is one of the world’s most beautiful urban sites. It contains more great artworks per square foot than any other city in the world. It is small—365,000 people live in Florence and you can walk across the city’s historic center in 20 minutes. But those who live here—even for short periods—are exposed to as diverse and exciting an array of cultural opportunities as those who live in far larger cities.
For 500 years, Florence has been an inspiration to artists from throughout the world—and it continues to delight and challenge all who seek, by living here, to grow creatively through their experience of Florence’s Renaissance—and contemporary—art and culture.
