FINKA

About Me

Every now and then a band slips in under the indie radar and just knocks you off your feet. FINKA however, regularly bounce gig goers on and off their feet with their frantic intimacy at emotionally charged gigs.

FINKA have been stockpiling buzz from many credible sources from the www.world, Manchester and London for months now. They, according to the likes of XFM, Virgin and the BBC, are on the verge of something big and that’s no surprise given their indisputable music talents.

With an already impressive track record of gigs including Glastonbury, headline slots at Manchester’s Academy 3 and suppports with The Fratellis, Holloways & The Rumble Strips, FINKA have now developed a strong following in London with their crowd mix ranging from young indie upstarts to people old enough to remember that Morrissey used to be in a band.

Finka can be currently found touring up and down the country and writing for their upcoming release in 2007.

Sounds Like:

“Bigger Boat in particular should have A&R men salivating into their espressos” Manchester Online

"Post indie punk icons such as The Bunnymen and The Charlatans, are fruited up with some Roses bagginess and all in all it don't half rock mate." Bugbear Music

“Awe inspiring melodies that match Joy Division darkness” Glasswerk

There’s something about these songs that makes you feel like life is terribly exciting. Finka have that certain unnameable something which suggests that you are hearing something very special before anyone else. They deserve big things. XFM

A tight little four piece outfit with a singer who radiates the stage presence of Johnny Borrel. Their standout track 'Bigger Boat,' has the anthemic quality of Coldplay meets Echo and the Bunnymen, with driving Interpol bass riffs. " Review of Finka @ Liverpool Barfly, www.subba-cultcha.com
