I write fiction. My first book, Things Kept, Things Left Behind won the 2006 Iowa Short Fiction Award. Stories have appeared in Five Points, Shenandoah, The Pinch, Bellevue Literary Review, Potomac Review, and the ever-popular elsewhere. Recent work has been shortlisted for Best American Short Stories, 2007 (edited by Stephen King), and Best American Mystery Stories, 2007 (edited by Carl Hiaasen). I also have stories forthcoming this spring in Opium and The Grinnell Review, and in the fall New Stories from the South, The Year's Best, 2008 (edited by ZZ Packer).
