About Me
Hmmm... What would you want to know about me??? I spent my early childhood years in Bismarck, ND. The grass was green, people were sweet, my family was MORE than loving and we answered the phone "Praise the Lord Hangslebens!" Yes, we were into the Christian thing hard core... Fortunately we were Lutheren, so spent that fanatic time preaching and learning Jesus' love and spent very little time focusing on heaven and pretending to know who was and wasn't going there...At the age of 11 I moved to Minneapolis. We lived and went to school right in the heart of the inner city. WOW, culture shock!!!Mom came out when I was 14 and so I spent my teenage years hangin with the homies and a bunch of lezzies (most from ND.)Traveled Europe at 18, went for a year, came back after only 3 months... (Backpacking wasn't quite for me...)Ended up at MCTC for school because it was cheap and found it's been the best school I've ever been to!!! Thank the higher beings for MCTC! Learned soooo much there and met amazing people. Started a group dedicated to bringing awareness of social issus, namely women, in our community. It was called Sisters for Social Justice...During this time I also worked at Ramsey K-8 where I worked with kids that have autism and also came out as a Lezzie myself...Graduated from Corporate Carlson in May 2005 and am happy to say I work at American Public Media Group, parent company to Minnesota Public Radio. I'm an accountant/analyst and am SOO happy that I get to do the business thing I'm good at yet also work for an great non-profit...I started the Vol-n-seeds this year with the help of MANY friends. Love the group. Can't wait to see where it goes.I live with my girl, Maria, in North Minneapolis. We have 2 dogs, one cat, and one snake... Love my house...Have a beautiful family, a great girlfriend, and wonderful friends...Am VERY blessed with all of the amazing people in my life!
