About Me

Hi, thanks for showing up! My name is Hampton. I have a beautiful wife named Lindsey, given to me as a gift by God Almighty. Don't think that being a minister's wife is easy for her, because it's not. She deals with a bear sometimes too. Sometimes she wakes up grumpy, and sometimes she lets me sleep. . .hah. Anyway, feel free to look around, check out some of my interests, talk to me, add me to your friends, whatever. Remember to live for Jesus, 'cause He's all that matters. Nice Threads!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Man, I'd like to meet a lot of people. How could I ever narrow it down enough to fit in this space without boring you? I'd like to meet some of our founding fathers, I'd like to meet Martin Luther, George Mueller, Oliver Cromwell, all the living presidents and some dead ones, and sooo many more people. I'd love to sit down with everybody in Hebrews 11, what I call the Bible Hall of Fame. I'm not even scratching the surface. One day, however, I will meet Jesus face to face.

Last blog deleted

Man, it was a good one too.  I was really transparent.  That really upsets me that computers are so touchy.  I'll try to remember to write it again when I'm not so tired & don't hav...

God Knows You

Quoting Max Lucado: "God knows you.  And He is near you!  How far is the shepherd from the sheep (John 10:14)?  The branch from the vine John 15:5)?  That's how far God is from you...

Ephesians 5:1-2

We've heard it said many times over, "Imitation is the highest form of flattery."  God, however, doesn't need flattery.  He never asks for flattery.  He is worthy of worship, not flatte...

What We Don’t Get About Worship

Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life begins Day 1 with an apt phrase: "It's not about you."  Max Lucado wrote on the "Rescue f...

Moving to Brookhaven

We've just finished packing some boxes and moving others around.  Well, this whole moving thing is NOT where it's at.  As a matter of fact, moving is for the birds, because they surely do no...

Lifesong (Part 2): What do others hear?

Wow, how long has it been since I wrote one of these things?  My goodness, I've almost forgotten how to do it.  Life has been absolutely crazy lately.  Sorry for taking so long between ...
