Robert Ely first picked up a guitar aged 7. 13 years on and its still part of the daily routine. Born in country north east Victoria, far from the action, Robert still managed to play and perform, albeit a struggle to find venues and willing ears. Robert has performed with many bands in his musical stretch, from funky punky rock to acoustic groove and then onto bushranger pop.

Now, in his 20th year, Robert hasn't changed too much and still sticks to the bedroom recording that first started his songwriting about 5 years ago. Easily heard can be Elliott Smith's and Dylan's influences, with a faint touch of the ol' Jeff Buckley lurking in the shadows aswell.

Playing here and there at a few cosy venues in Melbourne, with varying enjoyment per capita, it seems its all about the music. Listen and hopefully enjoy...
