About Me

David Mercado is the CHARVEL wielding six string maniac hailing from Long Island, New York.

Forged by emulating the styles and techniques of master axe slingers like Al DiMeola, Randy Rhoads, Ritchie Blackmore, George Lynch, Vivian Campbell , Eric Johnson and Jeff Beck, David has established himself as one of the premier metal/hard rock guitarists on the scene today.

In late 2006, David was approached by the progressive metal band Lazarus to join their ranks. Within two short months, he had completed the recording of “Episode One,” contributing greatly to what has been the band’s best selling record to date.

His blistering guitar solos on “Wings of Avalon,” “The Distance,” “Shades of Time,” “Dream Away,” and “The Hour Glass” have been described by the press media as SUPERNATURAL and earned him an endorsement with CHARVEL guitars. David’s guitar playing is also featured on CHARVEL guitar’s websites and myspace pages.

David is finishing work with Lazarus on their new CD, entitled “Awaken” to be released in 2009. David has also started pre-production on a guitar instrumental album, which will feature elite players from different metal and jazz genres and no doubt rival releases like “Elegant Gypsy,” “Rising Force,” and “Avia Musicom.” He promises not to disappoint.
