MISS LICIA - ENG BIO
It was dawn and I was coming back home. I felt shattered after a tough day. My feet ached, I could hardly keep my eyes open and my ears refused to listen to any sound. I was so tired that my mind could think only: “Come on Licia, there’s still about a few steps and you are at home”.
I opened my flat door and I went to my room directly. I flung myself onto the bed exhausted without undressing and with my last strength I thought: “I had to find a solution in order to do more things at the same time without getting myself into that state”.
“Why has not the human being the gift of ubiquity?” Soon after my thought I fell asleep into Morpheus’ arms.
I woke with a start. I felt strange, aching all over, dazed as I had had an operation. There was something strange in the air but I could not understand what it was about. I had a vague, confused recollection of a dream but I hadn’t any image of it in my mind. Only the perception of having dreamt about something.
I remember I felt the sensation that at a certain point my body was divided as someone pulled my tiptoes until “another me” came out…I tried to get up from my bed but it seemed a complicated enterprise. “Oh darn it!” I thought “ I didn’t believe that last day was so devastating…maybe I have caught flu!” I dragged myself as far as the kitchen door looking for a thermometer and….I cried!
“Who are you? What are you doing here” There was a girl in front of me. She was my exact copy but she had a different consistency, I can’t explain it. I started thinking to myself that it could be only a dream.
Why was that girl in front of me? Why does she look very much like me? And above all what was she made of?
“Don’t worry” she said “Don’t be afraid of yourself…I am here to help you. I am Miss Licia”
“Miss Licia? What the hell are you doing here? What does “ to help you” mean?”
“You wanted the power of not losing any important chances – often overlapping chances- but you are a human being and you can’t do it. So I am here to help you to do this and , above all, to fulfil all your wishes also those that your mind can’t imagine. “
“Ah ah ah and how did you arrive here? Where did you come from? Is it a joke?” I wondered incredulously.
“No it isn’t a joke….” Driiin driin driin, I started at the sound of the alarm clock. “ Well, it was only a dream” I thought a little bit disappointed but at the same time happy that the virtual copy wasn’t real. I stood up and went out to face up the real world but I kept on thinking about Miss Licia. She was exactly my VIRTUAL COPY, this was the right definition. It would have been nice if it had been true…..
For this reason Miss Licia has started sharing my life . She is my alter ego and in everyday life she helps me to fulfil “impossible” things.
