Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I have been a vinyl junkie since 1985 and i admit iam still a junkie. I was influenced by NY dj's such as dj Premier, Red Alert, Kool Herc, Grand Master Flash, Jam Master Jay...but my biggest musical influence was from my uncle Redford Barry Brown (aka Red).
My uncle Red had vinyls in his bedroom, bathroom, and in his kitchen, They were all over his crib. My mom use to bring me to his house when she had to work. While my uncle would be spinnin records i would walk around his crib like it was a gallery. Uncle Red lived in a two bedroom apartment, and in one of the bedrooms it had nothing but Reggae Music..I never herd Reggae until i went into that room, My uncle use to tell me that room was off limits for kids. I think i didnt go into that room until i was 12yrs old. Thats is when i got hooked to Roots Music. When i was twelve my uncle told me of where my grandpa came from...Yes im Brooklyn born, but my root starts in Jamaica. Since i was twelve i have been playing the turntables and today iam playin vinyls around the world, showing other countries my uncles roots collection.
