About Me
To the point, Aesculus was created out of frustration, annoyance and a way to express how I'm feeling inside. Basically I take things quite seriously and to heart. I was annoyed at the lack of effort being put into The Poo Bears, the missed summers and spare time which we could have been playing...But there's no point getting a downer on anything, so during them summers, during the time we haven't been doing a thing, I wrote my own songs.
I used whatever I was feeling at the time to write and still do it now, which is why lately some songs may be seen as aggressive. I like to play and I do like to experiment, I just don't like doing nothing, which gave me a reason to do this. When I recorded my first track "fixed" it made me feel better about the whole idea as the recording wasn't such a shamble as I thought it would be, especially working with this computer (It really does my head in)
So time goes, songs are made from whatever I was feeling and that was mainly being upset, aggressive and annoyed. This usually struck me when my girlfriend (at the time) left to go back home, I was angry that she had to go home for a few weeks till I could see her again, annoyed for not being closer to her. It really did hurt yet I used it as a form of inspiration, it kinda worked. The song "Lavin" (pronounced Lay-vin) is named after her, I miss her.
J has taken up duties on Bass and SMiFF has been assigned rhythm guitar. They're my homies and I doubt I could do it without them, plus we can still play with fire. We then thought about vocals and who would be up for it, which coincidentally, Ellis said a week before after listening to some tracks, that he'd love to put something to them, Ellis agreed to be our vocalist, our singer, our frontman. We love EllisThe last member, the drummer, was more difficult to find. This was because it was difficult to find a drummer who would be comfortable playing some songs that have been made and it was also hard to find someone who was available. But, our good friend Fran introduced us to the drumming dude, Bradford! After talking about our situation he agreed to help us and met us a few weeks later for Aesculus' first practice which was taken place at downssounds rehersal studio (www.downssounds.co.uk) After seeing him play, we immediately asked him to be a permanent member. The gig we had scheduled was canceled and now we're altogether and have time to work on and perfect the songs that we have to play them live to you beautiful people.
