Juan Mann,
Someone in need of a hug.
"There are several reasons I free-hug. First off it's to see smiles on random people on the street, that goal is pretty much accomplished every time I hold up the sign. But the biggest reason I free-hug is this. When I walk down the street I see the way people treat eachother. In fact, people don't treat eachother any way, the only thing they see is people, not a person. When you buy something from a store you're just another customer, not a living person. It's like that everywhere. People are too much up in their own lives that they stopped caring about one another. There are several people left who would still pick someone up when they fall off their bikes, but not too many. People generally don't care anymore. About anyone but the people they really know. No one trusts.
What I do, is show the world I do care. I will listen to your story, even if it'd take hours. I'll read the book of all the bad things that have happened to you, and all the good things too. And if you need a hug, I'm here for you. I will hold you if you need to be held. If you feel alone, call me, and I'll talk to you. I'm here for you. I don't know who you are, I don't know if there is anything I can say to help, I don't know if I can help you either way. But I will do what I can. I can listen. I can talk to you. And I can hold you."
