Learning to be Whole

About Me

I'm just a fun loving chick who refuses to grow up. I'm mostly a hippie, but full of contradictions as well. I eat organic food and Doritos. I love life and people and nature and colors and music and cats and camping and much much more. I sing in the shower, in the car, at the grocery store and to my pets. I wake up with music in my head. I read. A lot. I think even more. I believe in personal responsibility. If you're going to do something and it turns out badly, it's on your head, baby...don't blame anyone else. It's not our fault if you did something stupid. Just be happy we're not laughing at you to your face. I come from a Democratic family involved in the local political scene, but am a registered Independent. I believe in voting. If you didn't vote, you don't have the right to complain. I don't believe in governmental control. I think Homeland Security is just a way to subjugate us all. I believe in some conspiracy theories, especially those surrounding the current political regime in our country. I'm approximately 5'5" and have never been skinny. I'm overweight and curvy, but pretty strong and flexible for my size. I'm mostly happy with it and I have plenty of lovers who are happy with it too, so why change? I've had green hair and orangey-copper colored hair because it sounded pretty. I've dyed my hair so much that I'm not even sure what it's natural color is anymore. Some type of brown. My eyes are green to hazel, although someone once told me they were amber. But he's a fuck up, so that doesn't count. I collect stray cats and sometimes stray people. I can go from saving someone's life (I'm an ICU nurse) to acting like a 4 year old girl in under 4.3 seconds. Chocolate and coffee are food groups. If you can combine the two, you have a whole meal. I'd like to live in a tree house. I've lived in an intentional communty, and would gladly do so again. I've been told that I drive like I was a cabbie in a former life. (And that's in my SUV. He should have met me when I had the Integra!) I like to tie-dye clothes and make beaded jewelry. I'm a touch junkie. I don't believe that people in our society touch or hug each other enough. I believe in the healing power of hugs and saying "please"/"thank you". I'm full blooded Italian and I love my family, even if they drive me crazy. I suffer from migraines, fibromyalgia, a bad back and PCOS, and sometimes have to take days off because of that. In spite of that, I'm pretty easy going. I will chat with most people about almost anything. Give me a shout if you're up to some honest conversations.
