Mother of Sorrow

About Me

Formed as teenagers, Mother of Sorrow's first phase was short lived but not forgotten. Originally with Alex on bass/vocals, Damian on guitar, and Alan Andrews on Drums. Just kids playing in the garage, this phase burned out the first year. With Alan Andrews forming Easy Way Out then eventually moving to Denver, Colorado to form the popular The Photo Atlas, Mother of Sorrow went on a much needed haitus. Then with the re-introduction of Alex and Maria S. Mother of Sorrow was reborn and better then ever. Composing new material all together Alex and Maria worked week after week with new material and lyrics. Then eventually finding Steven Hope almost by accident, his personality fit perfect to secure his role as drummer. The songs are short but skillful, fast but fair, Mother of Sorrow has proven that you don't need a five minute song full of solos and breakdowns to win a crowd. Even the mellow songs keep it simple thus proving the theory less is more. With a tight fan base and underground following fans are wanting more, with no e.p release to date and with rumors of Alex moving just to bass, will the great Vocalist search begin. We are all left guessing. We will have to see what is next for these misfits, Mother of Sorrow may have a "I Hate You" attitude but they say it with a smile.
