Influences: ..Yalda came from Persia, the actual Iran. Her velvet voice whispers stories in Farsi, the language spoken by the Persians since ages. Graduated at the conservatory in Tehran, at the age of 26 she moved to Italy starting an artistic career which allowed her to collaborate with artists of the calibre of Pacifico and Raiz. She composed and interpreted music both for the soundtracks of big Italian directors such as Gabriele Salvatores and Silvio Soldini, and for documentaries produced by the local Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
In 2008 the album “Yalda†come out on Sensible Records / Edizioni Ishtar. It was airplayed on Rai and on the main national radio programmes. In these years she performed in various gigs (Biennale di Architettura di Venezia, the opening of the Philipps Collection at the MART in Rovereto, The art of Italian Design di Grecia, the Athen Hall and various Italian and Swiss festivals) offering a repertory consisting of her own compositions, as well as reworks of great classics from the traditional Persian music heritage and a few covers of gems from the Italian music.
Apart from availing hers of the support of great musicians Yalda during her concerts she accompanies on the setar, an Iranian four-chord instrument.
